Match Report Press Report

Brighton III Lost to Cooden I in a close match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.

On paper, the number 4 string should have been the closest, with only 64 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with Niall Powter winning through.

It was the number 4 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 132 Points ! Victory finally going to the Home Player and Player of the match, Niall Powter.

With 3 strings going the distance, the match turned out to be a hard-fought battle.

If the Home No. 3 player, Richard Turner, had not had to withdraw after 2 game(s) the result could have been closer.
